In Field Strategies is a national canvassing firm focused on strategic and direct voter contact through mainly door to door operations.

JOB SUMMARY
IFS is seeking an experienced Assistant Project or Project Manager responsible for leading, managing and mentoring team leaders and canvassers performing door to door canvassing operations nationwide. The Assistant Manager supports the manager in his/her daily duties and in the absence of the Manager will be the face of IFS on the ground, both with the staff and with the client. He/she will be responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating logistics, and managing the day to day operations for canvassers. The ideal candidate will have experience in grassroots advocacy and campaign management. This position is a traveling position with most of your time spent deployed regionally in the US based on need.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Supports the Senior Project Manager in all operational, administrative and logistical needs
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team leaders and canvassers
  • Trains team members on canvassing operations, company mission and policies
  • Provide constant communication and oversight to canvassers in the field; to include daily meetings and phone calls with all staff, shift tracking, daily and weekly goals, etc.
  • Responsible for the overall strategic planning of canvassing operations in the assigned area of operation
  • Develops "walk books" for canvassing operations
  • In the absence of Manager serves as the face of IFS to the client on the ground
  • Sends nightly, weekly, or monthly reports depending on the needs of the client
  • Coordinate logistics for the project, to include: flights, lodging, car rentals, day to day transportation to walk books, and any other logistical needs that arise
  • Advises senior IFS management of "on the ground" issues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one election cycle working - in a paid capacity - on a campaign, for a committee, or for a vendor
  • Basic understanding of grassroots campaigning
  • Proven ability to utilize a team to hit a pre-set goal
  • Effective time management
  • The ability to work successfully in a team, sometimes for long hours and under intense pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, verbal, written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two election cycles working – in a paid capacity – on a campaign, for a committee, or for a vendor
  • One election cycle working – in a paid capacity - on a campaign, for a committee, or for a vendor in a management role
  • Advanced understanding of grassroots campaigning
  • Proven ability to utilize a team to hit a pre-set goal
  • Associate degree or higher

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Must be willing to undergo an initial background investigation
  • Must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
